With the support of the Australia Awards Alumni Innovation Grant 2023, ICIMOD has successfully organized a two-day training session in partnership with the Nepal Engineers' Association (Sustainable Development Committee) and Gridville Kathmandu University. The training was entitled "Empowering Youth and Women: Optimized Irrigation Designs for Climate-Resilient Agriculture" and took place on 20th and 21st April 2023. One hundred young engineers benefited from the practical training on the Design of Optimized Solar Lift Irrigation Systems and GEDSI inclusive project designs. The training aimed to equip the engineers with the necessary skills and knowledge to design and implement sustainable irrigation systems that harness the power of solar energy.
